About The Artist
Through her sculptures ceramic artist Isobel Higley intends to evoke a sense of positivity within her surroundings. Her interest in spirit realms and other worldly creatures, combined with a pleasant fusion of humour and fantasy, creates cute figures with a strong narrative. Higley’s distinctive illustrative style produces creatures that appear naïve, whilst expressing human-like emotions. Embodying an inviting and tactile shape, Higley actively encourages her audience to interact with the small sculptures by holding them in their palms.
As a ceramic artist Higley uses sustainable processes in her practice wherever possible to reduce negative impact on the environment.
Isobel Higley is a recent graduate from Falmouth University, BA (Hons) Contemporary Craft.
